Scritchy scratchy...
So about a year ago, Dan and I heard a strange noise in the ceiling above our bathroom. Undoubtedly, we knew it had to be some sort of small critter. Wasn't sure if it was a squirrel or a mouse. After a brief look around the attic, we spied mouse droppings and concluded we had a winter move-in. I had used mousetraps for a youth conference activity before, so found one and set it that night. Our little visitor found a way to eat off the bait without getting caught - punk! Well, we didn't worry about it again until this week. Dan bought some fancy schmancy traps and caught a mouse in less than 36 hours! The trap is the kind that only traps the mouse, without killing it. I told him there's no way he's going to free the nasty thing alive because it would find its way back into our attic. Meantime, I'm thinking he's going to have to somehow open the trap and then whack it real hard, or shake the container until it dies. Either way, an unpleasant task (even more unpleasant for the mouse). He tells me he might drown it, and I'm thinking there's no way that thing will let him drop it into a bucket of water. I kept imagining him opening the trap, and having it leap onto his face! So, this morning I hear Dan and the boys head out to the garage with the live mouse still in the trap. I repeatedly shared with them that I wanted no part in it. After only a minute, they were back in the house and as Dan put it, the mouse had been "euthanized". So, how'd they kill it? They had started up the car, and then let the exhaust pour into the trap. It died almost instantly. Who thinks of those things?! Anyway, mission accomplished! No more mouse (unless it had family that moved in with it). Oh, forgot to mention that the coffin used was a ziploc sandwich baggie. I heard the kids talking about how great it was to get a close-up view! Nice, huh?

That is sad....and I'm a little grossed out, but I'm glad you are mouse free!
I wish I could have been there. I am sure you did your high pitched squeal. I might call Pita on you....Ha Ha Ha!!
WOW!!!! I would have never come up with that for the solution. Thanks for the suggestion. You guys crack me up.
You could have just mailed the mouse to our snake so she could take care of it. We love dead rodents at this house..well at least the snake does.
