Dan and I participated in a 5K obstacle course last Saturday. One month before the race, Dan decided to do some 1-mile jogs around our neighborhood to prepare himself. He went 6 times a week, and I joined him about twice a week. We probably should have worked up to 3 miles at some point. But, too late! I know I held Dan back a few times(quite literally when I got a tow up a hill by hanging onto his shirt!), but he's a nice boy and stayed by my side for the whole thing. We weren't interested in being first place; we just wanted to have fun.
Some of the better obstacles included jumping over fire, going down a huge slip-n-slide, climbing over some junkyard cars, scaling up and over a cargo net, and crawling through mud! Oh, and we had to run 3.1 miles betwixt all those obstacles. Apart from the running, we really enjoyed the event. Our sister-in-law encouraged us to do it as a family, so there were 7 of us in our group.
Here we are pre-race:

Here we are post-race, having already been hosed off at the event:

So awesome! Was this the Warrior Dash?! We wanted to do that this year, but waited (as per my usual modus operandi) until it was too late to register.
