On Labor day, Dan and I totally survived the Deschutes River with some rafting friends! Before we got into the raft, I wondered if I had just suited up into my burial clothes. There were 7 of us manning the raft, that is, at least when we started. The water was cold, so I'm super glad I wasn't one of the 3 people that fell into the rapids. Our camera came out during the calm stretch, but there was plenty of paddle-digging through the wild stuff. Yeehaw!
Here's Dan dumping himself over a small waterslide. I watched him and all the others get sucked under the water for a couple of seconds. No thank you. I just know I would have been the one who got trapped in an underwater whirlpool, in an endless swirl of doom. Or, eaten by a giant squid.
I went white-water rafting once. Once. I will never do it again. We went in the Fraser River, in BC, Canada. I've never been so scared in all my life. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier.
