We'll be out of town for Christmas, so I thought it reasonable to skip putting outside lights up on our own home this year. We won't be around to enjoy them on Christmas day, so it didn't seem to make as much sense to put them out. Anybody with me on this? I joke with the kids that our house is the most festive on the block, but they all just groan at their mother's lack of humor (author's note: this is a perceived lack, not actual). I'm sure the neighbors think we've swallowed the humbug pill but seriously, who wants to take all those wet lights down and re-pack them for storage if you don't need to?! It's like loading your groceries into the cart, then unloading them for the checker, and then re-loading your groceries into bags to go right back into the cart they just left, and then loading them into your car, just to unload them once again inside your home. Surely, we could skip a few unnecessary steps, right? I think I'm onto something.....

Holiday lights
Packed in tight (cause that's what we do whenever we go somewhere all together), we took a jaunt around town oohing and ahhing at several festive homes. There were some amazing light displays, of which this was one of our favorites:

Just put them up next year and put a timer on them. That way when you are out of town, they still come on and the neighborhood can enjoy them. That's what we do and it works awesome. On at 5pm, off at 11pm.
