Holy Smokes!

Maybe I've seen too many movies, but I really thought there could be a chance of my neighbor's jeep blowing to smithereens. I heard a continuous loud noise that sounded like a sickly car horn, so went outside to check it out. That's when I saw orange flames inside a car! I relayed to Braden to grab the phone and dial 911, then calmly told the dispatch lady to send a firetruck to our address. She asked if there was someone inside, and I reported that I didn't think so since it was parked on the street. The windows are tinted really dark, so I couldn't see inside from my vantage point. Remember the blowing up part? I didn't want to get too close to check, in case it exploded. Curiosity quite literally may have killed me. On the other hand, the built-up smoke inside was enough to kill anybody too. If someone was inside, they'd certainly be dead. Another neighbor walked up minutes later and didn't see anybody in there. Maybe I should have checked? There may have been potential for a purple heart nomination or something, right? Nobel Fire Prize? Neighborhood Watch Princess for a day? Maybe not. Anyway, after calling the Fire Dept, I did my looky-loo from behind our brick pillar just in case said Jeep decided to blow! It isn't every day you get to see a burning car on your street.....what a day!
The weird thing is, the neighbors are in Hawaii for the holidays and haven't driven that car for a week. I found their cell number, so informed them of the unfortunate news they'll be coming home to. No exterior damage since the firemen put it out before it could spread further, but the inside got toasted. Turns out it was something electrical they had under their dash that caught fire and burned through the dash. Here's a video snippet from my oh-so-brave, lookout point:
